Ford Escape (2001 – 2004) Fuse Box Location & Diagrams

If you are dealing with a dead radio, a flickering headlight, or a malfunctioning power outlet in your first-generation Ford Escape, the culprit is often a simple blown fuse. Understanding where your fuses are located and what each one controls is the first step toward a quick and cost-effective DIY fix. The 2001–2004 Ford Escape utilizes two primary fuse panels: the Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel and the Power Distribution Box located under the hood. This guide provides the exact locations, detailed diagrams, and amperage ratings to help you identify the right fuse for the job.

Fuse Box Locations

Passenger Compartment Fuse Box

  • The fuse panel is located on the left hand side kick panel. Remove the panel cover to access the fuses.
  • To remove a fuse use the fuse puller tool provided on the fuse panel cover.

Engine Compartment Fuse Box

  • The power distribution box is located in the engine compartment. The power distribution box contains high-current fuses that protect your vehicle’s main electrical systems from overloads.
